hsze is on a distinguished road
Hello everyone,

I'm modelling two fluid zones, one consisting of O2 & N2, the other consists of H2 and H2O, the two fluid regions are separated by a solid body, so each fluid zone has a solid wall boundary as a neighbour.

On the O2 side I would like to apply an O2 sink on the wall, so that the wall absorbs a specific amount (kg/s) of O2 from my fluid zone 1.
On the H2 side I would like to apply an H2 sink on the neibouring solid wall and on the same wall I would like to apply an H2O source into my fluid zone 2.

If I understand correctly I have three options to model my problem:
A) Use species transport + surface chemistry on wall (not a perfect option as I do not wish to acutally model the chemistry reactions)
B) use UDS and a UDF_DEFINE_FLUX macro
C) Model a very thin volume sink close to the wall

If I'm misssing another option please let me know!

I think option B) would be the most accurate and elegant way to model my problem, however I have no experience using Define_flux UDFs and I would like to know:
Is it possible to use such a udf and only sink/ source one species into my fluid zone from the wall?
I do know how much kg/s or mol/s I want to sink/ source into my fluid.

Or can you give me ideas for modelling such a problem, if I'm missing out of other Fluent capabilities?

Thanks in advance,
Helen
