Hi,

I've been trying to simulate the flow over a motorbike using Ansys Workbench Fluid Flow (Fluent).

I can prepare the geometry with symmetry without any problem and do a proper mesh with tetrahedrons and two bodies of influence and the inflation layers. This results in a mesh with 2939097 nodes and 11427731 elements. Also I have a medium skewness of 0,23322 and a medium orthogonal quality 0,75799.

However, once I have all the parameters set up and I start the simulation, before getting the first iteration it crashes.

May it be because my computer can't handle that many elements?
Or is it something else?

Thanks

in fluent GUI go to tab general in the tree
press Check -> in must give you following at the end of report
Code:
Checking mesh..........................
Done.
Then press report quality button

if everything ok here, check your boundary conditions

Okey, I've checked that and I don't get that message but this one:

Done.

To get more detailed information about the mesh check failure
increase the mesh check verbosity via the TUI command
/mesh/check-verbosity.
Fluent can also try to fix the mesh check problems via the TUI command
/mesh/repair-improve/repair.
What can I do?

Thanks

Type the command as the message says to see if the mesh can be repaired. Once the repair is done, check the mesh again.

Or start the meshing from scratch, produce better mesh by following the criteria guidlines for mesh quality.
