Hi all,
For context, I am simulating a counter flow bubble column. The Liquid will enter through a horizontal side pipe connected to a larger vertical pipe. The secondary phase will be added as a source term, some z-distance. I am using a define-on-demand to patch the source terms. The mass source is M_dot/Patched_volume where M_dot is my input variable. Then as for the momentum source, I have M_dot*Uzb/Patched_volume. My simulation is unstable and diverges on k, epsilon, and vof. I believe the issue is the DOF of my simulation being 2 the mass flow rate and bubble velocity, M_dot and Uzb. So to correct this issue I want to know the cells face area so I can back calculate mass flow rate leaving by bubble velocity as my input variable m=Q*rhob Q=A*vb m=A*vb*rho |
