Hello forum,
I'm quite new to FLUENT, and I'm in grind for days. I'm trying to make a simulation that has a gas dispersion onto solid particles. For this, (1) the gas flow was set as realizable k-e turb, axisymmetric. (2) the discrete phase model : injection was set, allowing interaction with continuous phase. (3) the injection type is single, type is inert. Now, I wish to track the trajectories of the particles as unsteady while having the fluid(gas) flow as steady, and I would also like to observe the breakups of these particles(Breakup of DPM physical models was chosen). However, even though I set interaction with continuous phase + gravity, the solution animation of particle traces remain literally paused for no matter how many iterations are done. It seems that the particles are not interacting with the fluid flow. So I tried to give velocity to the injection particles directly and plotted the "particle traces colored by particle velocity". I thought that if this was working properly, at least the particles would move by their own speed, nevertheless how the fluid flow works. Yes, the particles were colored as much as the velocity I applied, but they still don't move. I added an image part from the solution animation scene of particle trace. (Gravity is being applied as in the +x direction, while the axis of symmetry is the lower horizontal line) I'm so frustrated and I have no idea what is making this simulation nonsense. Please give me any advice to make that particle(s) moving(or flying, or whatever) Last edited by jwoon; May 23, 2022 at 05:55. Reason: adding more info |
