Dear all,

I am working on the modeling of an AC plasma arc.

Using the MHD module, I am trying to simulate an AC electric current on an electrode surface, but am not able to add a function/expression on the current or voltage in the MHD module boundary conditions to simulate the AC current through a sinusoidal function/expression.

The MHD module apparently only takes constant values for voltage or current as boundary condition.

When adding the function/expression in the fluent's general boundary conditions, the MHD module does not read them either.

Is there a way to add a function/expression for the voltage or current in the MHD module?

If not, is there a way to simulate an AC current on a certain surface in fluent with the MHD module ON?

Thank you for your help,
Jad.

Have you found a solution yet to this issue? because I am facing the exact same problem and I cannot find the answer anywhere.

Hello

I want to set sinusoidal value of electric potential (MHD module) for a wall, first i try expression but i faced to error :

Error: wta(2nd) to string_eq

Error Object: __expr__

then i try Profile and UDF profile , but agian i faced to problem , when i use them it consider the wall to insulated.

Could you help me how can i set sinusoidal value for current density ( Electric Potential MHD) ?

Best Regards,
