Excessively High Temperatures in Natural Convection Simulation

Hey everyone,
I have been trying to develop a steady-state simulation of a solar chimney to determine its ventilation performance. I have modelled the fluid domain as a rectangular prism geometry orientated vertically with a pressure inlet and outlet. 3 of the 4 remaining walls I have set as adiabatic (heat flux = 0) whilst the final wall I have set to be my heat source with a constant heat flux (1000 W/m^2). My issue is that the heated surface is experiencing very high temperatures upwards of 200 C when basic analytical equations and literature are inferring an expected temperature of <60 C. I have tried refining the mesh and changing solving methods however the high temperatures persist. I am using a boussinesq model but I have also tried using polynomial functions for air properties to no avail. Lastly, I am using a laminar model as the expected velocity is low due to the small geometry. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? Or where the issue lies? Happy to provide more details to further clarify anything Thanks! |
