Hi everyone,

I am currently doing a project where I am required to simulate a tentacle inside water, and I am currently using UDF to move the nodes along the tentacle across the timesteps. (Meaning at timestep 1 it moves to configuration 1, timestep 2 --> configuration 2 etc.)

However, I am relatively new to CFD, and I came across the term Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian. I would just like to ask if this method of moving the tentacle is the ALE method.

I am rather confused as I read in other forums that fluent does not use ALE, but ALE seems to describe the DEFINE_GRID_MOTION process rather well.
