Hi,
I want to model a rotating filter (porous media) immersed in the water. The filter is a hollow disk. The outside water passes through the filter and the filtered flow exits from the center of the membrane. I have defined 3 zones. 1- main flow, 2- filter, 3-filterd water. Outside boundaries of filter are connected with main flow (unfilterd) and the inside ones with the filtered wall. The problem is that, since the boundaries of the filter are of interface type, no velocity can be set. This problem may also be solved by imposing solid by rotation to the filter domain (or specifying the tangential component of the velocity in the filter zone), but I cannot. Can anybody help me. Notes: 1- I have tried using rotating frame for the filter domain, but it's just the frame of reference, not the omega of the cells. 2- I have tried 3d mesh and the mesh motion, but as the filter domain has no wall, it cannot be modeled. 2- Is it possible to develop a udf for imposing solid body rotation (or specifying the tangential component of the velocity in the filter zone) to a zone? Or by adding a source term? Thanks a lot.!!! |
