hello i live in a third world country where electricity goes out for a few minutes everyday. the problem is when i open the fluent to continue the case it asks to overwrite the report files .
for example if the saved report was from 0s to 2000s before power shutdown. when i try to continue ,it write in the report file starting from to 2001 and deletes the previous 2000s.this forces me to back up old file in another folder before continue running . is there a way so it continues without removing the old 2000s ? |

If you choose to not overwrite (answer no) it will append. Problem is, now you might have duplicate data.
For example if you run and your simulation stopped at time-step 1251 but you backed it up at 1000. Now you rerun starting from 1000, your file will contain data from timesteps 0-1251 and then start again from 1000 onwards. But if your simulation stops at 2000 and you restart it from there, it shouldn't be an issue. |
