Hello guys.
I'm working with Ansys fluent to estimate wind turbine's wake and monitor when the wake's effect on velocity profile after turbine completely disappears and velocity profile look like inlet velocity. For this purpose, I made a cylindrical domain with velocity inlet and pressure outlet for inlet and out respectively and the side area of the cylinder has been adjusted to free-slip boundary condition. with the actuator disk model has been employed to simulate the turbine and the outlet is enough far from the turbine position(146D!) and the LES Smagorinsky-lily(with dynamic stress) turbulence model has been employed also My mesh is fine. But as one can see in the picture(mean x velocity contour) although the wake became weaker its effects on far domain velocity is not completely disappeared. the question is why it happened when my outlet is far from my turbine? is it possible to do this simulation without the ground's effect(ABL) or is it the turbulence model problem? Thank you in advance Last edited by aref_ehteshami; March 4, 2021 at 05:55. |
