Hi everyone,

I'm trying to simulate the natural convection within a closes chamber that contains two copper plates at 900°C and its walls are at 100°C. When I did the simulation without gravity and using a coupled solve method, it converge really well, but when I add gravity don't.

I attached a picture that show the geometry used and also the distribution of density within the chamber in absence of gravity.

If anyone could help me with some advice I would really appreciate it.

Best regards,

KsaMe

Hi AlexanderZ,

Thansk for your reply. I watched the videos but unfortunately they use incompressible ideal gas when tried to simulate the transient behavior and I need to use ideal gas because the density and temperature difference in the system I'm working on is an important issue.

Thanks AlexanderZ. I also watched that video and the problem is that he used the pseudo-transient option and I need to look at the transient behavior. However when I used the pseudo-transient option it converge and I can see the behavior of the steady-state solution. Do you know how to make it converge in transient mode?

Regards,

KsaMe
