Hi all,

I want to define my own thermal conductivity with DEFINE_PROPERTY macro in porous media zone. I know fluent will calculate thermal conductivity of the cell by volume averaged method.

My question is: If I use DEFINE_PROPERTY to return a thermal conductivity of fluid, then will fluent still use volume averaged method to calculate final conductivity or DEFINE_PROPERTY returns is the final thermal conductivity?

Best regards

Weiqiang

vinerm will become famous soon enough
Fluent always uses porosity (volume) weighted properties. If you want the property to be given by DEFINE_PROPERTY or if you want it to be same (despite being averaged), then provide same values for fluid as well as solid material.
