Hello everyone,

I am modelling material flow in friction stir welding using fluent. But I am not knowing how to calculate the different residual stresses involved in it?

Can you provide stepwise methods for calculating residual stresses in fluent.

Or if I can import the results from fluent to any other software or medium to calculate them?

Or I need to do it in workbench structural (if so how)?

Thanks in advance.

Fluent cannot predict residual stresses. You need to transfer thermal field to Structural tool for that.

Sir, can you kindly provide me any stepwise tutorial or videos that will help me.

If any udf is required for predicting residual stresses?

I am sorry, I do not have any tutorial or video. Furthermore, residual stress prediction process can be explained by someone versed with Structural simulations and tools. It's not a part of fluid dynamics.
