Hello,
I have a question regarding using overset interfaces along with overlapping (coinciding) walls in 3D. I’m trying to simulate the flow field around a rocket by importing three meshes (background mesh, payload fairing mesh, and the body mesh) into Fluent 19.2. When I create the overset interface between the fluid domain and overset components (fairing + body), I end up with thousands of orphan cells (fig. 1). I tried to import the oversets components separately (figs. 2 & 3) and it looks to work out without a single orphan cell. Also, “Display-cells” command remains invalid even after I mark the orphan cells in a register. This prevents me to visualize the orphan cells location. If I run the calculations anyway, Aerodynamic forces will remain zero for the whole calculations. Is there any missing treatment for the walls’ connection? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Best regards, Amin |
