Hi all,
Recently I tried to simulate soot combustion in diesel particle filter using fluent. It's like fixed bed combustion simulation to some extent. I finished most part of the the job and I can get almost all results consistent with those in literature such as soot consuming rate, temperature distribution. However, the velocity contour I got is very different with that in literature. I used the same permeability equations with those authors. Those authors in literature did not mention whether they used some kind of compaction model or dynamic mesh. As far as I am concerned, the pressure drop decease during soot cake combustion is mainly due to reduction of soot cake layer instead of micro properties of soot cake layer. Therefore, I guess some compaction model or dynamic mesh is used. I wonder are there anyone who are doing similar project can give me some suggesitons and I can also share my experiences. my contact email is liuweiqiang@yahoo.com Best regards Weiqiang |
