Hi

I want to simulate airflow passing through some curved surfaces. (image 6)

I defined a fluid domain for it (the big rectangle in image 1). I did the meshing and everything looks ok. However, when I go to the setup phase, only the bigger box is showing and the curved surfaces are not inside it (image 5)

What is the problem here? Is the meshing wrong? (I also checked the boundary conditions in the setup, there is inlet outlet etc, except for the curved surfaces.)

For a 3D case, Fluent will import meshes only for 3D bodies. If the curved bodies are surface bodies, then the mesh will exist in the Meshing tool but not in Fluent. However, if those bodies are solid bodies, then mesh should be brought in Fluent as well. To debug it, you can suppress the cuboid and retain the curved bodies in the Meshing and export the mesh (or open Setup if you are working within WB). See if Fluent loads any mesh.

Hi!

Thank you for your reply! I changed the surfaces to 3D bodies, then made the subtraction between the bodies and the fluid domain and imported it again. I did the initial meshing, there was an error for failed mesh.

After this, I inserted sizing and method of tetrahedrons (I haven't updated the meshing yet, as it takes a lot of time and I want to make all the changes before that)

But I don't know if the error is due to this. Do you have any suggestions?

Only mesh is read into Fluent. And in 3D, it only loads mesh that has cells not just surfaces. So, yes, that was the problem. Once you are able to get a good mesh, Fluent will read it.
