navi is on a distinguished road
dear all,
Please help out in this centrifugal pump impeller simulation.

firstly I am simulating impeller with 1450 RPM and later I would like to do for 2900 RPM.
In the previous case, I have done simulation with mass flow rate at inlet and outflow at outlet - and I have seen pressure at the inlet is more than outlet as this will be not in a real case. with this input, I have also given rpm rotation for the impeller.
Can anyone help this boundary condition is correct or do I need any other boundary condition.

And one more regarding RPM where do I specify RPM for impeller rotation in fluent. do I need to give rpm with inlet-outlet BC's or only Inlet outlet BC's are enough without RPM

Since you have not provided any rotational speed to the impeller, the pressure values predicted by Fluent are correct; without a rotating impeller, pressure has to be higher at inlet than that at the outlet.

It is recommended to use pressure inlet with 0 gauge pressure at the inlet boundary and mass flow outlet at the outlet boundary for simulating a pump.

For the rotation of impeller, you have multiple choices. If you use multiple reference frames, then you have to provide rotational speed for the reference frame of the cell zone around the impeller. This is done in Cell Zone Conditions. You have to ensure that the location of origin and direction of rotational axis is correctly given. Otherwise, the simulation will predict incorrect values; may even diverge.
