Hey all,

I am simulating a jet impingement case with conjugate heat transfer modeling. There is a jet which impinges on a wall, with the wall's back supplied with constant heat flux.

Now, there are two cases:
  1. The wall is smooth, so the areas of both sides of the wall are the same. I am able to simulate and get proper results for this case, and the heat fluxes are same on the both sides of the wall.
  2. The jet impinging side of the wall has some protruding elements, so the surface area of the front and back of the wall are different. This case is diverging after ~1000 iterations. Also, heat fluxes on both sides are different.
The simulation is run with y+ values kept from 1 to 3; the turbulence model used is K-Omega SST. I look at the heat flux values using the Surface integral post-processor present in fluent itself.

I would be really grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. Please do mention if further details are required.

Much thanks.
