Hi all,

I am doing a methane catalytic combustion simulation with fluent. For now, I can simulate cases with only surface mechanism successfully. I am trying to include both gas phase and surface mechanism in my model.

gas mechanism in my model is SK16 (16 species and 43 reactions). Surface mechanism in my model is DETHCHEM (24 reactions)

since my case is steady state, I tried to ignite the mixture with two methods.
1. Patch 2000 k to the whole computation domain.
2. give an initial high temperature to the catalytic wall and calculate for hundreds of iterations. Then set back to coupled thermal condition.

My problem is I can not ignite the mixture. The whole process is like a heat conduction from the out wall to the whole domain. By the way, the thermal condition of out wall is set as constant temperature 773K.
I attached the temperature contour below.

Can anybody give me some suggestions? Or share some strategies regarding to how to ignite the mixture?

Best.

Weiqiang
