Hi everyone,

I've used Vortex Method which is available in FLUENT for initial perturbations for an LES case for a turbulent boundary layer problem with heat transfer.

For the method, the number of vortices need to be defined and in the"Quick Guide to Settings UP LES-type Simulations", it says no of vortices to be set should be one fourth of the no of cell faces on the inlet.

The issue is the max no of vortices Fluent allows me to define is limited to 1000 which is not enough considering the no of faces in my inlet where there are around 31k faces (no of vortices should be around 8k).

I've run the case with 1000 vortices but the results are not promising as the turbulence doesn't seem to be developed quite enough.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
