ari003 is on a distinguished road
What is the difference between steady state and transient solution?
Based on the application how can I figure out that which solution to use?
It will be really helpful if someone helps.

steady state means its time independent and transient means its allowed to change in time.

For most cases steady state works, because you are doing RANS which solves for the temporal-averaged velocity.

But if you have a time-dependent velocity inlet for example, then the solution would obviously also me time-dependent and you would need to do a transient simulation.

Sometimes there are inherent unsteady effects in the flow, like vortex shedding, which sometimes necessitates a transient simulation.
