Dear all,
I want to do transient simulation of grounds source heat exchanger. But, due to complexity of the flow. I just simulate conduction heat transfer between ground wall of the pipe.

But I confuse how to calculate heat extracted from the ground.

I find this paper https://academic.oup.com/ijlct/article/9/4/250/655598

They show the equation but they do not give the location of temperature which are taken from the simulation and how to get the heat transfer extraction.
