Hello everyone,
I am trying to optimize the inlet manifold of a heat exchanger geometry (Please see the figure). I have already completed the baseline simulation using Fluent. I need the shape of inlet manifold in such a way that the flow uniformity at the section A-A (the entrance to the heat exchanger core) is maximum. Now my question is, can I do it using the direct optimization tool in the workbench? I saw some videos on youtube but most of them are FEA category. I played with Mesh Morpher Optimizer tool for several weeks. Though I managed to run the built-in optimizer in it, I could not get an optimized solution from it. In fact, it never converged. It would initially slow fast reduction in the objective function but after sometime stopped saying that it had not converged. I know about adjoint solver but I am not sure if I can use it for this. Any kind suggestions from you would be helpful and appreciated! Last edited by Dronzer; February 13, 2019 at 09:16. Reason: typo error |
