I'm trying to use the species transport tools in Fluent to model a gas-solid reaction. Specifically I'm imagining one gas flowing into a tube filled with a porous bed of solid, reacting with that solid, and a different gas flowing out.

I was able to get a gas-gas reaction going fairly easily by using the built-in methane-air mixture. However, gas-solid is proving somewhat more difficult and I've scoured the internet for examples without much luck. This page in the documentation seems to imply it's possible, but I can't figure out how to actually *do* it.

I've set up a mixture and added gases to the "selected species" list and solids to the "selected solid species" list. I then set up the reactions in the "reactions" tab, and set gas flowing into the inlet. I set the main body to be my mixture. But nothing reacts; the solution says that the reaction kinetics are always 0.

Has anyone encountered a good example of this, or have any tips?

Hello sir, I am trying to make a mixture containing gases and solids but I defined the solid material in the library but I still do not see it in the mixture lists. The solid species list is not activated. how did you activate it?
Thank you!
