LES Dynamic Smagorinsky Values

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there is any way of checking how smagorinsky constant varies (contour etc.) within a domain when dynamic smagorinsky approach is applied? |

It's an output of FLUENT (I think you can find it under turbulence in the in-fluent visualization options). You can certainly make contour plots and so on, and if you prefer to use other post-processing tools I am sure you can export it too -just may not be a default value.

Thanks for the reply. I've looked into it but had no luck. How can we get the dynamic Cs values if they're not there by default? Thanks |

It is under turbulence category. In the GUI it's called "subgrid dynamic viscosity cont"
It is not a default export variable. To export it, in the gui you would go to run calculation=> data file quantities and then check it under additional quantities.Then this quantity will be saved and can be imported by your favorite post-processor. Takes only a few button clicks and 1 minute to do. |
