Hi,
what is the best way to write an output parameter (calculated in a udf) as a monitor? It is not a variable like temperature or pressure that has to be stored at each cell location. Just something similar to global maxima of temperature (not the same). So using c_udmi seems inefficient.

What would be the best way?

You can store them in file-scope or static variables.

Can you also tell me how to access this (to plot or monitor) from the fluent GUI? I am not sure I understand.

You can output the necessary information to a file and you can process it later. Is a real-time visualization of such information critical for your application?

Okay. I can use Gnuplot or something to plot it real time. Was wondering if fluent had a "more direct" way to do that.

Yes, real time plotting would help me tune the relaxation factors in the UDF quickly.
