platzhalter is on a distinguished road
Hello everybody,

I am fairly new in fluent, therefore hopefully my problem is easy to solve for some people in this forum. I read the manual on dynamic meshing and was looking for some fitting tutorials, but still think that I am heading in the wrong direction. What I would need would be somebody giving me a hint what technique to use, not really a detailled solution.

Problem description:

- Abstract drying process: Hot air is accelerated in a nozzle and hits a paper, which is heated up.

- During the simulation time the paper moves inside and later out of the jet field

- Goal: transient evaluation of the temperaturefield in the paper

Pictures:

- You can find attached pictures of the initial mesh as well as a steady solution without moving paper, in order to see my goal

thoughts:

- since I want to display a rather simple translation movement of a thin plane, it should be possible to use a sliding mesh. Therefore I would activate Mesh Motion for the solid zone in the cell zone Conditions

questions:

- Do the mesh of the solid section an the mesh in the part of the fluid section, where the solid moves into have to me similar?

- silly one: If I use "preview mesh motion" tool to display the mesh of a timestep > 0, how can I come back to the initial mesh?

- Is a sliding mesh the right approach to this problem?

Thank you very much!

Best wishes, Moritz
