Hi, I am running a simulation on a 3d, S-shaped duct, commonly used in compressors.
  • I have a post-processing plane that is inclined at 5° to the vertical and I want to find the velocity normal to this plane.
  • I can do this easily with a custom field function but I also want to divide it by that normal velocity area-averaged over that plane.
  • Currently, I am having to create a variable for the normal velocity, manually create the area-weighted average using the surface report and then type that number into a new custom field function.
  • I have a lot of runs that I need to repeat this with and it gets a little tedious after a while. Is there any way of automatically including the area-weighted average in the custom field function?

I've included a picture to illustrate what exactly I'm trying to do.

Thanks in advance.
