Heat Flux and Radiation to Ambient on Same Wall

Hi! I am modelling an air-filled box using Discrete Ordinates method (Transient), where all but one outer side are adiabatic and inner sides are required to radiatively interact with each other. The one outer side has an applied heat flux but also needs to lose heat radiatively (emissivity=0.8) to the ambient.
(I am tying DO instead of S2S because i need to extend the simulation to semi-transparent media, later on. ) 1. How do I apply both the conditions to the wall? (i have tried accessing the temperature instantaneously and subtracting the emissive heat flux from the applied heat flux in an UDF. Results do not match that obtained from Transient Thermal Module) 2. When such an option is available in Transient Thermal Module in Workbench , why is it not available in in Fluent? 3. On specifying Internal Emissivity, I think Fluent sees an additional heat flux (radiative) entering the wall, owing to its temperature. Please correct me if I am wrong. Please give me some inputs. Any insight is appreciated. |
