Hey, I'm working on a membrane seperation process (membrane distillation excatly) and i have to simulate the coupled heat and mass transfer through the membrane on ANSYS fluent .I'm new with fluent and
I'm wondering if i should use multiphase model or write my own udf !

It's best if you use a UDF to solve a User Defined Scalar equation for the transport at the membrane surface.

You can use the speigler kedem model or the solution diffusion model to be solved at the membrane for the flux.

I plan on using the multiphase DPM model, but haven't yet gotten around that. I'll update here in case I have any success. Presently I am using a UDF to calculate the flux through the membrane

Wow I am trying to solve the same kind of problem pls can I have access to the macro to use for this kind of operation... however, I intend to model ion exchange membrane

I am new to the ANSYS as well as membrane separation modelling.
Can you please help me with how to write udf for mass transfer in FLuent??
I will be grateful to you.

Thanks
