Hi guys~ I am recently working on the simulation of laser welding, using the VOF method. I planed to add recoil evaporation pressure model into the simulation, but failed to find the accurate surface between the material phase and the air phase, where the pressure should be applied.

I know that I can construct the isosurface(VOF = .5) to represent the interface, which is quite easy during post-processing, however, I need to track the surface all the time during my calculation loops. Do you know any functions or macrons that I can use here? Or I have to write the code myself?

Thanks

Hello EternalEnvy,

I have the same problem like yours, have you managed to find a way to track the isosurface in your calculations ?

Thank you in advance

Well, not really. I gave up tracking the interface, instead, using divergence theory, I changed the face-distributed pressure into the cell-distributed force.

Hello EternalEnvy,

Did you add recoil pressure to your pressure balance equation or to your source term? And what formula did you use for either case.

Thank you in advance
