I have a counter flow heat exchanger model with both outer and inner pipe as copper. The inner copper tube has a 1mm thick coating of tungsten carbide. Although I gave the coating there is not much change in the temperature difference between the hot fluid in the inlet and outlet. The cold and hot inlet temperature is given by the user and the results are hot and cold outlet temperature.
Uncoated Heat Exchanger Cold in: 275K Cold out: 308.34K Hot in: 375K hot out: 344.5K Heat exchanger with inner tube coated Cold in: 275K Cold out: 308.14K Hot in: 375K hot out: 344.23K What can be the possible cause? |
