Hi every one
I want to simulate a double pipe heat exchanger in Fluent and in order to validate it, instead of using heat exchanger module I want to use a single pipe (as inner pipe) and a heat flux boundary conditions at its surrounding. The quantity of this flux will be calculated by simulating a similar heat exchanger in Aspen HYSYS. Now here is the question: is this reliable? I mean I can find flux quantity but I guess we can’t say heat distribution on this single pipe wall will be same as my mentioned method in Fluent. As an example consider a counter-current and a co-current flow arrangement. It’s obvious for a same quantity of heat flux we will have different dimension size of heat exchanger, now if I use a same reported dimensions and quantity by Aspen (whether co or counter-current) could I use the above suggested method to simulate a double pipe heat exchanger? Thanks for your consideration Last edited by Sadegh.A; October 3, 2017 at 14:13. |
