Hi,
I did a simulation of ship resistance with overset mesh and dynamic mesh in Ansys Fluent. The mesh around the ship and that in the background were built separately. First, I turned off the dynamic mesh and using overset meshing only. I got a smooth force curve. However, when turned on the dynamic mesh, calculations began to show wiggles (see the picture) for the force on ship surface. At the same time, nonphysical phenomenon was observed for shear stress on the surface (see the second picture). Does anyone have a clue for the problem? I really appreciate if you can tell me. Thanks. Qingsong |

Hello,
Have you found an explanation for this phenomenon? |
