NightWing is on a distinguished road
Hello All,
I am new to ANSYS Modeling and Simulation. Perhaps these are very simple problems dealt by all and you all could help me understand this better.

I am dealing with a situation where I have a rectangular container and inside of it is filled with wax. I need to model the melting of wax which is filled inside the rectangular container. I have the following doubts regarding it.

1) When I model the geometry, I initially make a rectangular container with a thickness of say 2mm. So i draw a rectangular container and extrude it with thin layer of outer thickness as 2mm. But as it extrudes, the sides of the box remains open; i use surfaces from edges and close the sides. Is there any alternate way so that i can directly get a solid closed box with a thickness of 2mm?

2) I need wax material to be filled inside the box. Since the wax has to be melted, do i need to create a fluid region inside the box? If so, If i use the fill command to generate a fluid region, is it the right way to proceed?

3) While meshing, if the rectangular box is placed in a room (room contains air), which is fluid domain, will I have use boolean to subtract the rectangular container from the fluid domain? If so, will I need to subtract the wax domain from the solid too? I don't understand clearly the logic behind this!

4) If suppose i don't model the rectangular container. I just keep a wax domain as solid inside a fluid domain (i.e. room), do i need to use boolean subtract and define interface? And in Fluent, when i enter the properties of wax, shall i enter the properties of solid wax of liquid wax?

Help is very much appreciated.
