Hello CFD experts,

I want to model a flow with periodic boundaries. The flow is rotational as well as translational periodic in nature. (Please see attached figure). Therefore I have modelled a 3d helical periodic segment. In Fluent, under Periodic conditions, I gave MFR and Bulk temperature as 298.15. While the outer wall heat flux is 298.15 K. The contours formed for temperature are pretty strange. Since the geometry contains helical shape, the translation distance in the figure is upto 1 pitch length (12.7 mm), which is for helix angle 60 degree. Please help me, why the temperature is not resolving right? Will, the boundary conditions "velocity inlet" and "pressure outlet" (instead of translational periodic) help?

I want to check your case file. You could send me the files. lihongyang0@126.com But I am not sure I could solve your problem.

I have recieved your case. You mean the temperature is low at the rotational periodic face?

NO, I mean when you run the simulations, after convergence, the results of temperature are like the one mentioned in figure which should not be the case, since we are applying flux at top, the temperature field must be uniform at a given cross section.
