Need help;
I am running my simulation in which there are injections and particles are injected using DPM model. The simulation went well for the 2000 iterations but after that it did not inject the right number of particle parcels in the domain rather than it is showing the following msg in console arning: Injection injection-0: LOST 2 out of 20 injection locations, probably outside the domain. This will inject 10% LESS MASS. Plain orifice nozzle is single phase Warning: Injection injection-1: LOST 2 out of 20 injection locations, probably outside the domain. This will inject 10% LESS MASS. Plain orifice nozzle is single phase Warning: Injection injection-10: LOST 2 out of 20 injection locations, probably outside the domain. This will inject 10% LESS MASS. Plain orifice nozzle is single phase Warning: Injection injection-11: LOST 2 out of 20 injection locations, probably outside the domain. This will inject 10% LESS MASS. Plain orifice nozzle is single phase Warning: Injection injection-2: LOST 2 out of 20 injection locations, probably outside the domain. This will inject 10% LESS MASS. Plain orifice nozzle is single phase Warning: Injection injection-3: LOST 2 out of 20 injection locations, probably outside the domain Kindly help if somebody has any experience with that. Regards; Atta |

How is your injection defined? Surface or file?

I assume you are running fluent in parallel.
Check from 'Models - Discrete Phase - Parallel' which option are you using: 'Shared memory' or 'Message passing'? I once had very similar problem with one of these options. I don't remember which one. Maybe you can try both. |

I had something here, but it does not fit your problem.
For some reason, I can't delete this post. |

when I inject 10676 the particle size 3e-09 and run the simulation .After simulation I got this type of result number tracked = 1, escaped = 0, aborted = 0, trapped = 0, evaporated = 0, incomplete = 0.but the boundary condition was trapped.is there any other addition setting for Nano particle injection. is gravity is consider for Nano particle?
thanks for your cooperation. |

injection defined as a surface. can you please help me what is the additional set up is required when the particle will change from micro particle to Nano particle? i think if I get it then I can solve the problem.
thanks in advance for your help. |

i faced the same problem(lost injections locations) which you met before. i use plain orifice model too.Could you please tell me how to solve it? In fact, i checked the ideal atomizer position in Design Model and Solidworks, no error shown for that. Thanks for your help. |

Copied from Ansys support website:
When setting up an injection and using the “List” option (say, to verify the number of injection points), this error for “lost particles” can show up if: 1. One or more of the injection point co-ordinates are lying outside the meshed regions 2. Case file is not yet initialized, or the data file is not yet loaded Last edited by Mahnoor; November 21, 2022 at 04:23. Reason: title modified |
