Hey guys,
I am new to fluent and I'm seriously struggling with modelling / getting results in fluent for my design! I've attached a few images here to help explain what I am doing So I've created the tip of the fuel injector and ive created the nozzles coming off of it aswell as the combustion chamber around the nozzles! I am struggling with how I would set this up in FLUENT as when I do the flow doesn't leave the nozzle tip. If you need anymore information please do not hesitate to ask Many thanks, Ross |

Hi Ross,
I'm not an expert, but from the first sight it looks like you did not properly set up your interior mesh? Have you checked what is set up as fluid and what is set up as solid? From my point of view your model is missing the solid part of the nozzle that separates the combustion chamber from the interior of the nozzle - so you have either fluid by fluid without segregation or your entire chamber is solid or the outlet of the nozzle is , however, "closed" (that's what the streamlines would suggest...) Martin By the way... you could be a bit more patient instead of pushing your topic half an hour after creation. |

Yeah sorry I was getting very stressed but I've clamed down a bit now, I also realised the exact thing you just pointed out to me! But thank you for the help as you've confirmed for me that I was right to change my geometry! Many Thanks, Ross |

Hey so I set it up as you said, however I am now running into the following error:
Warning: zone of type interior found between different fluids! Material of cell zone 10 is diesel-liquid, while material of cell zone 8 is air. This will adversely affect the solution. I've attached a picture of my modified geometry to this post, the outer geometry is the chamber, blue geometry is solid and the grey geometry is fluid! Have you any idea what I need to do? As much info as possible would be amazing! Cheers for the previous advice also Ross |

Think about this: other people might have to work as well... probably on a PhD-thesis, too.
As you already opened a second, identical thread, I am done with that one. I also think that you should be capable of fixing that problem with the geometry within minutes doing some clever internet search or basic tutorials. You are doing a PhD and want to do 2 phase simulation... the geometry will for sure be the easiest problem you are facing in that context. Good luck |

Which is why this is on a forum not a personal message to you, apologies that I need help and I'm a lot more stressed than the norm but there's no need to be a dick about it.
