hi, i'm in problem with selecting the radiation model in fluent.
The model is heated for 3 min. by radiation heater in the room as you can see below. I solved this model with S2S radiation model. but temperature at the specimen's surface was equal to the others although these specimens have different depth. My question is whether S2S model considers inverse-square raw and Will i use another radiation model? (then which model do you recommend ?) I'm waiting for your answer. Thans. The inverse square law is for a spherically expanding front coming from a point source. A surface is not a point source.
The surface 2 surface model is much more general than the inverse square law. You can compare the viewfactors for the three cases. They will be similar. |

according to your comments, that the View factors are similar is why s2s model results are same. Right? But i have more question. Actually I performed this problem with s2s and p-1 model. And the results are quite different between two models. P-1 model shows different temperature. (the deeper depth specimen has lower temperature.) s2s model shows same temperature as mentioned above. I don't know why these results are different. I'm waiting for your opinion. thanks. |
