Hi guys,
I am simulating a transient case. As I need to get the temperature on three points in the domain from each step, I tried the automatic export. However, when setting up the automatic export, the three points does not show up in the available options of the "surface" box. Does anybody know how to setup to automatic export the temperature from specific points from each step? You can create a monitor on that points and turn on the write data after each iteration option. |

In newer versions of Fluent (I think from 17 or maybe 17.2 onwards), sometimes user created surfaces do not appear in the automatic data export menu in the GUI. I'm not sure if it is a bug or feature, I haven't tested it enough.
However, you can still use the feature through the TUI commands. file/transient-data-export/ ......... blah blah blah Using monitors is only a workaround as it only works for quantities that you can get a report for. You cannot output variables along a line or surface this way. And you are limited to one quantity per probe and need to make a new probe for say velocity and a separate one from temperature. If you want to say, output all variables at your probe then you want to do the automatic export. |
