I would like to study particle-particle collisions in a fluidized bed using the stochastic collision option in DPM Ansys Fluent 14.0 .
Can anyone kindly let me know the algorithm that the flow solver uses for the stochastic method? |

I checked about the Stochastic Collision in Fluent18.0 Documentation.
It can be seen in Ansys Docu.>Fluent>Theory Guide>16.Discrete Phase>14.Collision>3.Theory 16.14.3 The algorithm of O’Rourke [354] efficiently reduces the computational cost of the spray calculation. The Reference Mentioned in [354] is P. J. O’Rourke. "Collective Drop Effects on Vaporizing Liquid Sprays". PhD thesis. Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey. 1981.( https://www.osti.gov/scitech/biblio/5201366 ) |

Sorry guys, I know that this might seem a bit off-topic but I am facing a problem in FLUENT. That is, is it possible to activate stochastic collision model in one way coupling? The problem is very simple, a tunnel 2D geometry solved with the steady model. I need to account for collisions among particles. Is it possible? Fluent (v. 17.0) says that it is necessary a two way coupling!
Thanks |
