hi all, im using Fluent 17 to simulate a simple flocculation tank with baffle. im new to CFD in general.
im using population balance model because that is what i read others are using and the setting that i use are as follow: multiphase- Eulerian with 2 eluerian phase and 1 discrete phase viscous- k-epslon -k-epslon model is realizable -near wall treatment is scalable wall functions -turbulence multiphase model is dispersed discrete phase model- in the physical models i thick erosion/accretion and breakup -i created injection with surface type. from the release from surfaces i chose inlet -the material chosen is ash-solid -in the point properties the stop time is 10s and the velocity is 0.01 m/s. the scale flow rate by face area and injection using face normal direction are chosen. population balance model- method discrete - the phases is water - the nucleation rate, growth rate, aggregation and breakage all have a constant value of 0.1 and Ramakrishna is chosen for the formulation boundary condition- at the inlet the water velocity 0.1, volume fraction 0.9, bin-0 fraction 0.1 and bin-1 fraction 0.3 - at the outlet, backflow volume fraction is 0, bin-0 fraction is 0.2 and bin-1 fraction 0.3 the solution initialization method use is hybrid. when i run the calculation i get an error below: Error: Divergence detected in AMG solver: bin-1-fraction Error Object: #f i already googled for solution but have not found any that works for my case. i will appreciate it greatly if anyone can give me a suggestion on how to solve this problem. |
