In coal combustion, there are two major steps, the first being devolatilization and combustion of the gaseous volatiles. The reaction details depend significantly on the composition of the volatiles, i.e the % composition of Char, TAR, H2O, CO2, CH4, etc. in the volatile matter. The first question is to what extent it affects the combustion and does it significantly affect the species distribution and temperature some distance away from the flame? Also is there any option of giving thus input when modelling coal combustion in Fluent using species transport model ?
