Hello,
i am using the sliding mesh method with periodic repeats option. The problem i have is that rotation/sliding of the mesh isnt executed the way it should be. i have a simple sketch of the problem. It is a rotor stator problem. I want to simulate a whole rotation of the problem, so only 1 revolution. The simulation starts at t=0 which is shown red. After it completes t=1 it normally should go to the green position at t=2 but when i use small step sizes it skips the green position and continues at the red position which is not correct. When i set the time step higher the mesh slides/rotates the way it should do. But for small step sizes which are necessary the mesh skips a quarter of the revolution. Interesting is that it happens only at the first step from going from blue to green and later for the second half of the rotation the position is correct. I realized this problem after a finished simulation and studied it with the "Preview Mesh Motion" setting. |
