Hi guys,
I have a small doubt regarding exporting of velocity profile and importing it to another mesh for simulation.

Consider i need to export the velocity profile at the outlet of model1
I need to import to the inlet of model2
Is it necessary to have the x y z coordinates of the outlet of model1 to be same as the inlet of model2??

Secondly can u guys please tell what are the considerations and pre requisites to be fulfilled while exporting a profile from one model and importing it to another model??

Any help would be appreciated..
thanks

Once exporting the Velocity Magnitude profile from one plane, you need to import it and select as inlet boundary condition the Velocity Magnitude.

However, because the cells take the velocity magnitude value of the nearest cell, then the mesh of the exported plane need to match the mesh of the new inlet plane.

If there is an error for any reason "you can open your first case, write an .ip file (File > Interpolate > Write data) and then read it for the new one (File > Interpolate > Read)."
Found from an older member.

Read this as well:

But this didn't work for me and what I had to do was to export the profile and adapt the coordinates in excel, cause I knew exactly which were the x,y,z of the old and new mesh....
