Hi All,
I am just starting with heat transfer simulation using ANSYS. I am doing a simulation involving Heat transfer with a heater in a closed room, and the heat transfer is taking place by conduction, natural convection and Radiation. The geometry is attached with this post. The 2 vertical plates are the heater coils at a constant temperature of 1400K, and the upper plate will be heated up by the surrounding air. I have made the mesh with ANSYS ICEM with all the interface zones as walls and there are shadows being created for each of them in FLUENT. But when I give the boundary conditions to these faces, I only get the option to define from three conditions, 1) Heat Flux, 2) Temperature and 3) Coupled. I want the heat to be convected too from the heater coil to the surrounding air but I cannot choose the boundary condition as convection and specify the heat transfer coefficient for it. So please help me out how to go about this problem. Should I specify the heat to be transferred via convection as heat flux from the walls of the heater to air? Or is there other way for defining convection at the interface? Thanks in advance! |
