Hello,

I have some confusion about the term insensitive in fluent. Here are some examples;

-original k- ω model is sensitive to the free-stream conditions but k-ԑ is not.(from ansys fluent guide)

-The Spalart-Allmaras model has been extended within ANSYS Fluent with a y+ insensitive wall treatment (Enhanced Wall Treatment (EWT)

I guess I sense this term in a different way rather than usual. For the first ex, I understand that as k-w model is sensitive to free stream, it resolves more efficiently the region where the viscous effects are negligible. But wasn't it k-e model that resolves the region far from wall using wall functions? Or in other words, does this mean k-e model is sensitive to boundary layer region so it has better near wall solution ?

And for another example, if enhanced wall treatment is insensitive to y+, why do we always ensure that y+ is about 1.So, I can infer a sensitivity from this?
