I Installed Ansys 17.0 on new machine (Dell Precision Tower 5810, Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit system). I installed the Ansysy successfully and I couldn't run the Design Modeller due to the error "Unable to start the geometry editor". Please, any help to fix my problem?
Kindly request, |

There is the same question posted, but I don't know if it's solved. you can try it and respond the results in the thread. |

Did you have a previous version of Fluent installed? Make sure you've followed the instructions to remove the old license manager. Uninstalling Ansys doesn't remove the license manager. You can quickly check your environmental variables to see if old information is there. For debugging I recommend to only tinker with the ANSYS License Management Center because it's a standlone process. Don't do anything weird like trying to launch workbench of design modeler or anything. If the license manager processes does not launch, nothing will work. |

Yes I fixed the problem as of the following: C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v170\ProductConfig I configured all the important programs and then restarted my PC. It worked after then. |

Yes, I was able to install in my notebook that has win7, but in this one that has win 10 pro is not working ... before installing I uninstalled everything that was old and installed all the pre requisites ... I no longer know what to do ... I've tried everything ... I think it's something related to win 10 ... but I do not know how to solve it .. |

Also, you really should be contacting Ansys support. After all, you or your company has already paid good money to use their stuff. Why did you spend all this money if you can't even install the darn thing? The only thing you need to get support is the customer ID, which you should always have. |

Works well for me, thanks . Note : version 16 on Windows 10 Pro 19041.630. Likely cause are OS upgrade from Home to Pro and some following updates. |
