Hi I am very new to using Ansys Fluent and I am having real trouble with flow over an airfoil such as in this confluence tutorial:
https://confluence.cornell.edu/displ...ver+an+Airfoil What I am trying to do is look at how the flow would act when travelling backwards over the airfoil to create downforce, like a spoiler would on a car. I have the results of air travelling forwards and that went smoothly, but to make it go backwards I thought all you would do is swap the inlet and the outlet around but this doesn't seem to be the case. The results won't converge and it's saying reverse flow when I'm calculating. I'm just not sure whats going wrong and I cannot figure it out even though I feel like its something obvious. To summarize - I have a usual C mesh for calculating flow over an airfoil, it works fine, but I'm wanting to calculate flow in the other direction and I'm not sure how to do it. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Even a starting point like where the problem lies, is it the mesh or the inlet and outlet positions I am just really confused. Thanks. |
