Hi, I am a graduate student in petroleum engineering working on hydraulic fracturing simulation, which basically in this case is just a flow of liquid (water) with some particles (low concentration) thru the fractures already been created, we want to look at particle concentration in each fracture. The domain of interest would look something like attached file. I am a very new Fluent user, so I dont have much knowledge about it. I have already done the simulation with using just some basic setup with standard turbulent model in Fluent with DPM model, particles are continuously injected throughout the simulation, and gravitational effect is on. I have obtained the result as shown in attached files, but I am not sure if the result is correct as the particles only going down not going to left or right at all even from the beginning, the trend would always looks something like attached file. Please note that the scale of the simulation is very big, fracture length is in order of 150 ft, the width is only about 0.8-1 inch, and the pipe diameter is only 6 inch.
Please kindly advise if there are any other important factors that I should consider in the simulation to make it more accurate. http://s8.postimg.org/s2l7hhayt/image.jpg http://s28.postimg.org/pm39m2zql/HF3.jpg http://s30.postimg.org/j7wokh169/HF4.jpg Thank you.
